With a future Charger SRT Hellcat from Dodge in talks, rival Ford owners can now get to enjoy a modified S650 Mustang GT with the Super Venom package which adds a lot of power to the supercar. We are dealing here with no less than 850 horsepower.
The whole project is signed by no other than Hennessey Performance tuning company.
Looking at the exterior, nothing immediately suggests extreme performance. A few clues exist. Front fender vents break up the bodywork. Side skirts stretch along the lower edges. A wing rises from the trunk, while a ducktail spoiler and several graphics add distinction. Even so, the overall look stays restrained compared with many high-output builds.
That restraint feels intentional.
This Mustang started as a GT. To most people passing by on the street, the car would blend into traffic without attracting unusual attention. Enthusiasts familiar with the platform would likely notice the details sooner. The visual changes are present, though they do not dominate the design.
Everything shifts once the throttle reaches the floor.
The Super Venom package raises output to 850 horsepower, equivalent to 862 PS or 634 kW. Torque climbs to 650 pound-feet, listed as 881 Nm. Hennessey states peak torque arrives at 4,900 rpm. Maximum power appears at 7,250 rpm. Achieving those figures required more than software changes. The package combines a high-performance supercharger system with a high-flow air induction upgrade and HPE engine management calibration.
Other modifications accompany the extra output. Lightweight 20-inch wheels are part of the conversion. Carbon-fiber pieces appear around the vehicle, joining model-specific exterior emblems. The cabin receives additional attention as well. Hennessey installs leather and Alcantara trim, adds custom floor mats, and includes a dedicated dashboard plaque identifying the package.
There is another aspect worth mentioning. The company states each conversion benefits from professional installation work and testing both on a dynamometer and on public roads. That process forms part of the overall package rather than an optional extra.
Ownership support follows the same approach. Buyers receive warranty coverage lasting three years or 36,000 miles. Hennessey also quotes the distance as 57,936 km.
Meanwhile, discussion continues around Dodge and the possibility of a Hellcat-powered version of the new-generation Charger. While enthusiasts wait for official developments, Hennessey’s latest Mustang already exists as a finished product. From the outside, the differences remain subtle. Under acceleration, the numbers tell a different story. An 850-horsepower story, to be precise.
