The New Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is expected to have three rows of seats and 710 horsepower on tap, it’s technically a rollercoaster ride for the entire family and they can either enjoy it or fear it and for sure it can be both.
As the name suggests this beast will have the almighty supercharged V-8 engine under its intimidating hood and a standard all-wheel drive system too eager to assist its breathtaking acceleration. The exhaust system can go from rumble and background music to auditory assault at the press of a pedal, and it won’t make you regret buying it as it can tow up to 8700 lbs (3950 kg).
Its cost is estimated to about 83.000 USD, as it’s expected to cost more than the SRT 392 model which puts the Hellcat SUV’s starting prince in the low 80.000 $ range and preorders for it will start this fall and the SUV will arrive in the dealership in early 2021.
Performance
The Durango will have the almighty supercharged 6.2 liter V-8 that summons 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, all the power going to all four wheels with the help of an 8 speed automatic transmission.
Dodge claims the monster SUV can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds and complete the quarter mile in an NHRA-certified elapsed time of 11.5 seconds while also being capable of towing 8700 lbs (3950 kg) which is more than most SUV’s on market at the moment. It comes with a specially tuned suspension with adaptive dampers and 20 inch by 10 inch wheels with standard Pirelli Scorpion Zero all-season tires or optional Pirelli P Zero three season tires. It also comes with a powerful Brembo brake system that clamps its 15.75 inch front rotors with six-piston calipers and its 13.8 inch rear discs with four-piston binders.
Fuel economy is not as good as expected, the Durango will have and estimated fuel economy of 13 mpg (18 l/100km) in city and 19 mpg (12.3 l/100km) on highway.
Comfort and infotainment
The Durango has a driver centric layout similar to the dashboard of the Dodge Charger and Challenger and has most of the premium features on modern cars such as premium materials and custom climate, heated seats and so on. As infotainment the beast comes with a 10.1 inch touchscreen that supports the company’s latest Uconnect 5 software, which is said to be 5 times faster as the version it replaces.

Safety features such as Rear and Front automated emergency braking and automatic high-beam lights come as a standard and as warranty and maintenance coverage the Durango comes with a limited warranty covers of three years or 36.000 miles, powertrain warranty for 5 years of 60.000 miles and no complimentary scheduled maintenance.
