Ford has just unveiled their one of a kind 1399 bhp version of the forthcoming Mustang Mach-E full electric to showcase the potential of EV powertrains.

The Mustang Mach-E 1400 Prototype has been developed by Ford Performance and RTR Vehicles, Vaughn Gittin Jr. Ford’s tuning firm and they claim that way more than 10.000 hours into the development of such a machine and is specially made for track, drag strip or gymkhana courses.

Ford Performance motorsport boss said that the Mustang Mach-E of what an electric vehicle is capable of.

The electric beast will feature not two as the top Mach-E but SEVEN ELECTRIC MOTORS with three attached to the front differential and four attached to the rear differential with a single driveshaft connects the motors tot the differential , with the setup designed to give the powertrain adjustability for various uses while it also has both drift and track setups as the hydraulic handbrake has been optimised to shut off the power to the rear motor when applied.

Power comes from a 56.8 kWh battery using nickel manganese cobalt pouch cells, which Ford claims offers ultra-high performance and high discharge rates while the system gets cooled down by a current during charging, decreasing the time of cooling between runs.

The design of this electric monster has been tweaked to offer a lot of downforce gaining up to 2000 lbs of downforce at 160 mph.

The chassis used was a Mustang Mach-E GT body-in-white chassis designed to accommodate different layouts, enabling the machine to be offered with rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive at the press of a button. All the power can be delivered to either axle or distributed evenly across both axles and it also features an electric brake booster that allow the Mustang Mach-E 1400 to recharge while braking with the help of ABS and stability control.

The car is an absolute monster if talking about horsepower but unfortunately it being designed exclusively for track makes it illegal for road driving  in any country but the fun never ends on track or the gymkhana courses. The Mustang Mach-E 1400 Prototype is designed for track drivers and experienced racers/drifters and is literally the proof of electric power among all full electric vehicles and proves to the world that you don’t need big engines using consumable fuels to ride on track but just the right gear.
