One of the biggest passions of the businessman Ion Țiriac is cars. The ex tennis player has a net worth of about 1.2 billion USD and rarely looks at money when he wants a car. He is a vintage car lover but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some of the newest cars in his collection like Mercedes and Ferrari. He even opened a museum at Otopeni and he simply called it “Țiriac Collection”, where everyone can admire a piece of his fabulous collection. ”Out of passion for cars I collected vehicles made starting from 1890. Now I have the joy of sharing this passion with the gallery visitors. A part of the vehicle evolution lays in my collection which I invite everyone to visit and discover themselves.” said Ion Țiriac.

Auction passion – “It’s like a plague !”

He tries to avoid car auctions, but the temptation is too high and he can’t avoid them and I quotes: “One day a Ferrari was sold for 1.2 million euros and the second day, the same model was sold for 2.3 million euros. You tell me if you understand anything cause I sure don’t.”.

He has about 250 cars in his personal collection. The ex tennis player cares very much about every one of his cars and claims that he would only sell one under one circumstance and I quote “And yes, I’d sell one to whoever would offer 10 million euros for one of the models and I’d donate it to charity the second after.”
