Toyota recently introduced the updated versions of the gorgeous “little” Yaris and its little brother, Yaris Cross, in Japan, with the models receiving a couple of new subtle changes. At least at a first glance. Taking a closer look at them, one sharp eye can immediately spot a couple of changes brought to the body.
Exterior
For the new model, compared to the 2024 facelift, Toyota added a couple of new paint options, along with black mirror caps, black shark fin antenna, and slightly revised front and rear bumpers.

Speaking of colours, the Yaris now offers a Mustard shade, while the Yaris Cross introduces Urban Lock. Optional styling kits from GR Parts and Modellista remain available for those who want a more customized appearance.
Interior and Infotainment
Stepping inside, there are also a couple of upgrades brought to the car`s infotainment display, which is now available with a 10.5-inch option. Lower trims, unfortunately, get the 8-inch unit, which replaces the older 7-inch model. Hybrids also gain an electric parking brake, and a front seat armrest joins the equipment list, small additions perhaps, but practical ones.
What disappears is the Toyota Teammate Advanced Park system. That setup bundled a Panoramic View Monitor with transparent floor functionality and included the Parking Support Brake. Its removal is notable, especially given Japan’s appetite for advanced driver-assistance features.

Powertrain
The more engaging change concerns the Yaris hatchback. The Z Urbano trim, for instance, is offered with a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual gearbox. The CVT version is still available.
Non-electrified models are also offered in Japan alone. We are dealing here with a 1.5-liter engine with 118 horsepower, while the hybrid setup has a combined 114 horsepower. A lower and less powerful version is also available in the shape of a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with just 67 horsepower.
Pricing And Availability
Sales in Japan begin on the 2nd of March, with prices to start from ¥1,697,300/$10,900 for the standard Yaris.
